captjamieway: John and Aeryn are frelling hot! (sga - lost city)
Was looking through some old entries and I just realized I've been a fan of Stargate Atlantis for a year now, yay. =D

captjamieway: John and Aeryn are frelling hot! (s/j - seize the day)

I'm so glad my shows are all coming back on. American Idol started last week. I kind of hate this part of AI... because I don't give a crap about the beginning auditions. I don't want to hear people in costumes singing off-key and then fighting with the judges over how good they sound... But we have to get through this to get to the good stuff.

Fringe also came back tonight. Have I mentioned recently how much I love Walter? And Peter (*melt*) and Walter together is just so much love. The more I watch this show, the more I like it.

And, Lost is on tomorrow!!! God, it's been gone so long. I probably should have been watching episode reruns just so I can remember what the hell is going on, lol.

The rest of my shows (Heroes, TSSC, *cough* Survivor) all come back on in February... and I'm thinking about checking out Dollhouse when it starts.

I'm still in the middle of Season 2 of BSG. The last episodes I watched was the "Home" two-parter, which I loved. I ended up buying Season 4.0 over the weekend and I'll be taping the 4.5 episodes as they air on TV. So hopefully, at some point, I'll be all set and caught up to watch the last few episodes live.

I miss SGA.

And, unrelated, but I love Kelly Clarkson's new single, "My Life Would Suck Without You"!

captjamieway: John and Aeryn are frelling hot! (sga - lost city)

My whole computer-life flashed before my eyes yesterday, lol. When I turned my computer on before the Atlantis series finale, I heard this god-awful noise from the CPU and started freaking out. In between the *OMG's* I thought about all the fic I've worked on in the past 3 months, including the 9 mini_nano stories I still haven't posted (somebody needs to light a fire under my butt on that) and the 10 or so others I've started since then, none of which were backed up. Not to mention all of the pictures, resources, etc... I have stored on here. Anyway, my father came in (because I was getting quite loud and panicky, lol) and thwapped it on the back, near where the fan is. It stopped making the noise and seems to be fine. It certainly scared the life out of me though and I spent the rest of the night worrying about it. I hope it wasn't something serious... maybe something just caught in the fan?

And, of course, last night was the Stargate Atlantis finale. My stomach was in knots watching it (although I think some of that had to do with the computer problems, lol) and I felt a bit teary eyed in spots. I don't think it's been a secret that there have been a lot of things about SGA post S3 that I haven't liked (*cough-cast-changes-cough*)... but I'm bummed that it's over. I really love these characters and I'm going to miss seeing them every week especially John. I wish all of the cast good luck on their future endeavors and hope that they end up on successful shows. There was more I wanted to say last night after it aired, but I could not connect to the internet at all yesterday... and now I can't remember what I wanted to say, lol. No internet also means I have a lot of F-List catching up to do.

I had a weird dream a few nights ago. Somehow I ended up stranded out in the middle of nowhere with a few people (I don't remember a lot of details, but I get the feeling that there was some type of doomsday and we thought we were some of the last people left on Earth). Eventually we happened upon a big raised house and, after wandering through several rooms, we came upon one with tons of shelves lined with tv series DVD's. Lol, so I mention that we can live happily here... until I notice that *dun dun dun* they don't have Season 3 of Battlestar Galactica, *lolz*. Later, when we were out on the porch we found Rodney McKay, whom I was very glad to see. And I don't remember anything else after that.

Speaking of BSG, I've just started watching Season 2 and I think I can officially say that I've been sucked in. I was hoping to be all caught up by the time the series picks up again next week, but I'm not sure if that'll happen. Hopefully not more than a few weeks later than that though.

We all went out for my mother's birthday a few nights ago. My nephew ordered Calamari for an appetizer so I decided to try it (which probably surprised me more than anybody, lol)... and I actually liked it. My sister refused to try it though, which amused me to no end because she's always made a big deal out of my niece and nephew trying something new and even used to pay them $$ to do so. I understand why she didn't want to, there are some things I just wont try... but it was still funny.

I've been meaning to post the lyrics to this for awhile now, and the song just came on in i-tunes to remind me. A lot of this song reminds me of Season 4/5 John and Sparky.

captjamieway: John and Aeryn are frelling hot! (sg1 - teal'c indeed)

I'm now completely up to date with Stargate SG-1. I watched "The Ark of Truth" a couple of days ago and "Continuum" tonight. I think that, of the two, "Continuum" was my favorite. I can't believe it's over. I'm so ready for the next SG-1 movie, I want it nao!

You know, when I started out my journey with SG-1, I kept thinking... this is alright, but I don't think I'll ever like it as much as Atlantis (because, of course, I do everything backwards and started out with Atlantis). I was wondering if I'd be able to come to love these characters as much the ones from SGA and you know what, I do. It took me a bit longer with some of them than it did with SGA (because they had me at hello), but I seriously love them, all of them, and I'm tempted to just say the heck with the other tv series I've purchased to watch and just run through SG-1 again instead, lol. *hugs the team*

My father did something that surprised me tonight. He asked if I wanted to watch Atlantis. I was shocked, lol... he's never suggested that before. Usually whenever *I* suggest him watching it... he wants to watch The Outer Limits or The Original Series (Star Trek) instead. We watched "Letters from Pegasus" and he did complain about Rodney the entire time (as usual) but I'm learning to tune that out.

And this is random, but I want to make Ronon videos to Merle Haggard songs, lol.

Oh... and that LJ downtime earlier? So not funny.

Well, I'm officially 2 weeks into [ profile] mini_nanowrimo . So far I have (in various stages of completeness):

3 John/Elizabeth
1 Elizabeth/Ronon Friendship  (which is the only one I've posted so far)
1 Elizabeth/Jack
1 Elizabeth/Daniel
and 1 Gen SGA

(Lol, I believe I see a recurring theme there...)

I'm not happy with all of them (I've been having some days of serious self-fic-loathing)... but I'm really happy that I've actually kept up with this. I don't think I've ever written this many consecutive days before. I committed to at least 100 words a day (because I'm wimpy)... but I've only had 4 days under 400, so on the scale of me, I've been doing pretty good.

BTW, has anybody ever had one of their userpics magically change into something else? Because I went to use one of my Lizzie icons and in it's place was an icon of a man I've never even seen before. Just seems really odd...

OH! And I finally "met" Vala today and I have to admit, she and Daniel are quite cute. :)

captjamieway: John and Aeryn are frelling hot! (s/w - squee)
A couple of months ago I posted a photo of Weir and Sumner kissing from "Rising" (original post here). I was really curious about it, because it's not actually part of the episode and just seemed so random, lol. Cut to tonight, I ended up talking about it with [ profile] anuna_81  and it got me wondering about it again. So, I got on google (I should not be left alone with google at 4AM, lol) and found a video of it! I still don't know the "why", lol... but ZOMG, video! *squee*

If you want to see it, go here:

Then click on "Enter the Gate". On the next page scroll down the video clip list until you get to Rainbow Sun's picture. Click on that and it'll take you to an interview with him... and at the end of that is the clip! *squees and runs off to watch the video again*

We had a rather intense lightining storm here today, which meant having to turn all of the electronics off (*gasp*). Before I got off, I checked out the prompt of the day, hoping it would spark something to keep me busy, lol. So here's my story about a beautiful day at the beach for John and Elizabeth... while I was personally witnessing a down pour, lol.

captjamieway: John and Aeryn are frelling hot! (sheppard - hair awesomeness)

Ok, so I convinced my dad to watch Season 1 of Atlantis up to "The Eye" and if he still didn't like it after that... then he doesn't have to watch it anymore (not that I could really make him anyway, lol... but I'd at least stop whining about it). We watched "Rising" tonight & he already admits he likes Atlantis (& John... & Rodney, who I didn't know he even had a problem with) better.

Lol, there was much internal squee-age going on while rewatching it... especially during John & Liz's first balcony scene. *shippy sigh*

In return I had to watch fight scenes from Bruce Lee movies that he just got today. I think I definitely got the raw end of the deal... I just don't have that gene. Lol... which is kind of surprising, since most of the movies I watch are sci-fi or action... but I like all of the character stuff that goes on inbetween the fight scenes.

Well, Rodney's (my tamagotchi, see last post if confused) still, surprisingly, alive.... especially considering he woke me up this morning. Given how quickly kids get bored... I'm surprised these things were so popular back in the day. All the thing does is eat, poop, whine, & sleep (just like his namesake, ha)... & there's only one game you can play with it. I remember having quite a few digital pets back when the things were popular, I think my favorites were actually the Giga Pets. I think they had a bit more personality. But really it's all just the same thing over & over again. But now I'm just too interested to see how long I can keep it alive, to put it away, lol.

I really really need my Voyager muse to come back. I have 2 stories that I have to finish for people (for a Pay It Forward thing I did last year & yes... it's taking me a whole freaking year to actually complete them) & they're due very shortly (one in a couple of days... & one later next month). I'm really starting to worry that I wont be able to finish them. Well, more-so the J/C one I'm writing... the other story requested was a silly one & I'm sure I can get something together for that. I keep trying to push my Atlantis muse away... I feel like I shouldn't be writing something else when I made a commitment to do these... but it seems all that is accomplishing is writing NOTHING at all.

My alleriges are annoying the heck out of me. I don't even know whey they're acting up. I've hardly been outside at all today & I don't think I've been around anything else out of the ordinary today.

captjamieway: John and Aeryn are frelling hot! (chakotay - teh dumb)
I haven't updated in awhile, figured I should say something... lol.

This past weekend I finally went down to IKEA for the first time. I've been wanting to head down there for awhile now and my mom's friend had recently gone & told my  mom about it, so she decided she wanted to check it out too... so we met my sister there & spent over 3 hours looking around (& given how big it is, that's actually pretty quick, lol). I didn't get too much, mainly just browsing... but they have some really great prices.

So we finally ended up back around home & eating dinner at like 9pm that night... we went to this bar (& grill) & my dad saw the NASCAR Nationwide race on a tv in another room... and he's like "That's weird, they're making  right turns." So I turn around & "Yeah, that is weird!" Then I'm like.... "And the number on that car is backwards!" So we're all like "WTF?!" Then somebody walks by the room & my dad goes "Oh... I know what's wrong... that's a mirror." Zomg, I felt SO dumb!! That's when I realized how tired I was, lol... I seriously put my head down on the table because the cloud of teh dumb was so dense around my head, lol. But we all got a good laugh out of it... and at least it wasn't just me, lol.

I caught an episode of "Eureka" the other day & it seemed kind of interesting. I'm going to watch the pilot episode first before I think about going out & buying the first season. Fortunately I had downloaded it off of i-tunes many moons ago when it was offered as a free download when the show had just started out (yes, I've had it that long & still haven't watched it yet). Anybody on my F-List a fan of the show? Is it any good?

My dad has been watching Season 5 of Atlantis with me (& he hasn't really seen any of the other seasons). So we're up to episode 3 of Season 5 & he's already decided he doesn't like John Sheppard... & seemed kind of bewildered that I do. I told him I'm going to make him watch Seasons 1-3 of Atlantis because they're the best (IMO... especially 2 & 3). ROFL, I feel like I just brought a new guy home to introduce to my parents & my dad doesn't approve of him.

And thanks to [profile] mrs_picard(for bringing it up & inspiring me to seek it out, haha), meet Rodney... my Tamagotchi. Lol, I haven't used the thing in like 10 or 11 years. When I was out tonight I got some new batteries for it. I have to say, I'm already sick of the thing... he's a demanding little son of a gun, his stomach must be a bottomless pit (I probably shouldn't have named it Rodney). We'll see how long it lasts. I actually don't think he made it past a couple of days when I played it as a teen... and my patience is probably even worse now, lol.
